NFL Tight Ends UNITE for Haiti Virtual Yoga Event

Star NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Robert Tonyan and TJ Hockenson are all supporters of Haiti Allies and have been using their platforms to help raise funds to support Haiti Creates.

These three players participated in a participatory virtual yoga class taught by George's sister Emma Kittle.  We're looking forward to repeating this event in 2022.

The players signed a number of our larger yoga mat bags as part of this fundraiser, and some of these are still available here on the Haiti Creates site.

Thanks again to George, T.J., Robbie, Emma, and to George and Emma's father Bruce Kittle for all your support!

Haiti Creates & the Cite Soleil Art Center (CS Art Center)

Haiti Creates products are made at the Cite Soleil Art Center.  CS Art Center is a small factory located at Cite Soleil Community School (CSCS) on the outskirts of Port au Prince, Haiti.

The purpose of CS Art Center is to provide jobs that enable workers (primarily parents of the students) to support their families.  Income generated is also used to help pay for the school's operating expenses, including salaries for teachers and a daily meal program.  For more information about Haiti Creates, CS Art Center, the school, and the Cite Soleil community in which the school is located, please select the "About" tab on the left margin of this page.

Products Made By Haiti Creates

Haiti Creates is a line of products made in a factory owned and operated by a Haitians.  The factory is called The Cite Soleil Art Center and it exists within the footprint of a school in Cite Soleil--one of Haiti's most materially impoverished communities.  The factory is powered to a large degree by solar panels, and the products wherever possible are made from recycled materials.  The goal of this social enterprise is to provide employment that breaks cycles of dependency and charity and to empower the community to be financially sustainable and independent.  All sales of products in the Haiti Creates line are used to employ parents of children at the school, to support the school itself, and to feed the students.

Haiti Creates: Building A Sustainable Future

It's simple.  The people in this community want to work for a living.  Haiti Creates workers are mostly parents of the children at the school.  They create beautiful products made from recycled materials.  The factory is solar powered.  Sustainability.  Work with dignity.  Moving beyond charity to social enterprises that generate income, break cycles of dependency, and establish spaces in which Haitian leadership, capacity, creativity, and vision can flourish.

The purchases you make here create work and put food in the mouths of some of the most materially vulnerable people on the planet.   It's a beautiful thing!  Thanks for being a part of it!!
